How to care for your stained concrete/metallic epoxy floor
A common question we get from our friends in Lafayette, Baton Rouge and surrounding areas is about cleaning and caring for their epoxy and stained concrete floors.
To Clean interior stained concrete floors. Dry dust mop with occasional wet mopping with a neutral-ph cleaner will keep your floor looking great. I recommend products such as; Fabuloso, swifter wet jet, bona, shark steamer, and/or any product with a low ph/acidity.
Avoid products such as; vinegar and water, pinesol, ammonia. They have a high acid content and will slowly dull your floor. Compared to other types of flooring concrete flooring is a breeze to clean. They have no fibers, grout lines, crevices and when sealed resist stains and abrasion.
To Clean exterior stained concrete floors. Keep the surface clean by sweeping or with a leaf blower or rinsing with a garden hose. To remove stubborn dirt scrub with a mild cleaner and medium bristle brush. Resealing may be required every 3-5 years depending on amount of traffic and if exposed to direct sunlight.
